A Brief History

In 1964, the dream for a Christian Church service camp was conceived in the mind of minister Leo Crowe.

By December 1964, the name for this camp was decided.  The name was chosen to be “Faith Christian Assembly.”  This name would eventually be changed to “Faith Christian Camp.”

The first week of camp was held at Levi Jackson State Park August 1-6, with 64 campers and 13 faculty members.  There were 11 baptisms and 22 re-dedications that first week.

On April 20th, 1966 ground was broken on our current campus.  Approximately 200 people were present.  The cabins were eventually built by individual congregations.  Six cabins in total each holding 16 campers.

The camp was dedicated on October 15th, 1967 with Harvey Bream, Jr. as the speaker.

Many updates and renovations have taken place since 1967, but our goals and message has remained the same.  God continues to use this camp to reach young people.

"Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it."

Proverbs 22:6
